Historical Home Attic Clean up with Dry Ice
Dry Ice Blasting was used in a Historical Home located in Vader, Washington for the removal of soot staining from the rafters located in the attic. The loss was caused by a lightning strike via the lightning rod located on the roof. The roofing material needed replacing but there was also damage done to the exposed vertical fir grain rafters. The homeowner was adamant that there could be no change in the appearance of the aged vertical fir grain rafters. The normal process of sanding, stain lock and paint was unacceptable but using the dry ice blasting process was the perfect alternative to cleaning the wood. In using the precise tip control of the dry ice tool would control the amount of damage done to the winter and summer grain. The dry ice process that was used provided a successful cleaning bringing back the wood rafters to its original condition. "Like it never even happened."
